JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
General:
- Perform bookkeeping/accounting functions and maintain financial records for the organization
- Record and prepare bank deposits
- Oversee accounts payable to ensure timely and accurate payments, optimizing cash flow and maximizing the efficient use of organizational funds
- Prepare monthly financial reports
- Record payroll entries and make any other required journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Reconcile monthly credit card statements and bank statements
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the annual audit, coordinating with external auditors, and providing required financial documentation
- Assist with Resource Development activities, such as accurately recording donations and fundraiser funds; provide support with grant application data research and administering grant funds as allocated
- Act as a visible ambassador for Chemung County Habitat for Humanity (CCHFH) and be able to answer basic Habitat-related questions from others
- Adhere to CCHFH’s policies, procedures, safety practices, applicable codes, and regulations.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Two-Year Accounting Degree or equivalent experience, nonprofit experience a plus
- Excellent math and accounting skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, ability to multi-task
- Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Support Chemung County Habitat for Humanity’s mission
- Must pass a Criminal Background Check and a Sexual Offender Check; Submit to a Credit Check as required for QLO Certification
- Willingness to attend any necessary training and obtain certifications needed to fulfill the position and needs of Chemung County Habitat for Humanity
